BuildFetch Engineering Blog
👋 BuildFetch has launched!
Published: July 29, 2026
We have publicly launched BuildFetch! Few weeks ago, actually, it's a multi-stage rollout anyway, we built this Engineering Blog a bit later prioritizing the product and first customers.
Our first product, BuildFetch Cache available at https://buildfetch.com
We designed and built BuildFetch Cache from scratch as extremely fast geo-distributed Remote Build Cache.
Natively compatible with Gradle, Bazel & Ccache today. Sccache later this week, Go, TypeScript & other toolchains releasing out one after another every ~1-2 weeks at regular cadence.
Engineering Insight
Our team comes from years of Devops / SRE / Tooling experience maintaining big Monorepo builds with hundreds of active developers and massive autoscaling CI/CD pipelines. Such setups naturally require squizing every last bit of reliability and performance, which includes observability, multi layer caching, remote execution, fast reliable storage systems and all that jazz.
Infrastructure like this is backbone of Big Tech companies and their products all of us rely on daily.
We wanted to make Big Tech infrastructure accessible to any startup and enterprise through BuildFetch Cloud and On-Prem.
Thus, we rolled the sleeves, pushed the barriers and built BuildFetch with 0 "XYZ as a Service" cloud provider dependencies:
- Self-deployed Databases with backups, replication and high-availability
- In-house Content Addressable Storage (CAS) In-Memory → NVMe → SSD tiered system, extremely fast, highly available, replicated, autoscaled, with encryption at rest. We don't use S3 or other Object Storages, they're great, but far from required latency and throughput characteristics.
- In-house "Deployer" with strictly typed configuration file describing entire Leader or Follower cluster, parallel execution in stages, deploy health verification and more. We don't have any K8s
.yamlor helm values files just hanging in the repo. And of course we deploy every master branch commit. - Large suite of unit, integration and end-to-end automated tests that run on every BuildFetch Monorepo PR.
This allows us to run BuildFetch Leader → many Followers topology both in big clouds and On-Prem in any Kubernetes environment.
BuildFetch Cloud currently runs in 3 regions: Leader in US East and 2 Follower clusters in US West and EU Central with mTLS interconnect.
Multi-stage stealth launch got us real customers in Cloud and we're seeing consistent daily use with early-launch respectable peaks around 10,000 Cache requests per minute.
Cache Requests per minute chart
And "Time to First Byte" latency p50 at ~1.5ms and p75 below 5ms in first public release!

2026 Plans
By Q4 2026 BuildFetch Cache will be a complete, extreme performance build cache solution for entire tech stack for Startups & FAANGs: backend, frontend, mobile & machine learning in a unified product.
Whether Backend / AI, ML is Rust, C++, Go, Java, Kotlin, Scala, etc, Frontend in Typescript, iOS & Android native/mixed — BuildFetch Cache will serve them all on a single plan.
Free for Open Source.
What's available right now
BuildFetch offers today:
- Cloud with unified user experience, automatic billing with Stripe, choice of locations for best latency: US West & EU Central today, US East later this year
- On-premise on any Kubernetes of your choice: AWS EKS, GCP, Azure, DO, your own hardware, you name it. BuildFetch does not need any "DB as a Service" or "S3 as a service", we need few VMs with local NVMe and network SSD volumes and scale from there. Competitors routinely require $10k-20k+/m in hardware alone and then $20k-$50k/m in licensing, BuildFetch on-prem requires ~$1k-$3k/m in hardware with lower latency and higher throughput
- Real-time dashboards with byte-level precision
- Unlimited number of Users on any plan
- Unlimited number of Projects on Cache Pro
- Resource usage beyond included plan limits w/ transparent pricing
- Native Gradle, Bazel, Ccache Remote Cache support, Sccache rolling out this week & more toolchains supported in upcoming weeks

Personal note
BuildFetch Inc. is a Wyoming C Corp. I, Founder & CEO, live and work from beautiful state of Colorado w/ EB-1A Extraordinary Ability green card, previously held two O-1A talent visas.
Last 10 years I worked in Big Tech — Lyft, Juno, Yandex, NYTimes & more: network frameworks, reactive yet eventually consistent architecture, then more and more exclusively on massive CI/CD infrastructure, build systems, compilers, developer tooling, K8s, tons of open source.
Infrastructure product vision I held for years is materializing at incredible speed.
I'm thrilled and worried, as one should be, building tech business and family in US is very demanding.
Beyond BuildFetch Cache
BuildFetch Cache is just the first product of BuildFetch.
Later this year we will roll out BuildFetch Artifacts: Maven, NPM, Docker and more infrastructure products with unmatched performance and ease of use.
We appreciate you reading this and value any product or technical feedback, DM us on X @buildfetch or email at [email protected]!
Best regards, Tommy Zinnatullin. CEO & Founder of BuildFetch Inc.
